Architect

CEM provides corporate services to schools, home-schooling families and childcare centres nationwide, servicing 17 schools and 3 early learning centres across Australia owned through controlled entities.
About the role
This full time Architect role is part of a growing Buildings Team consisting of Projects Managers, Development Managers, Senior Architects, Architects, and Graduate Architects. The role is due to commence as soon as is practicable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of a range of education projects of various scales and budgets
- Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications for school buildings using ArchiCAD
- Ensures drawings are compliant with relevant local codes and regulations
- Interpret and coordinate council requirements and consultant reports into construction drawings
- Works independently and unsupervised whilst remaining accountable to the Senior Architect.
- Work collaboratively with development team using Archicad Teamwork
- The role is based in CEM’s corporate office on the Central Coast with a flexible work policy allowing a portion of WFH.
- Minimum of 5 years of post graduate experience in Australia, preferably in the education projects.
- Proven experience of independently leading small-scale projects ($1-5M) from concept to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with proven experience collaborating with clients and consultants.
- Your documentation skills (Archicad essential) and attention to detail is outstanding.
- You’re able to meet deadlines and work with multiple stakeholders.
- You possess a sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), Australian Standards 1428 and 2890 and general construction methodology.
- Hold and maintain a valid Working with Children Check
- An active Christian faith and church involvement
- Commitment to live and work in accordance with the Christian Faith and its values

This full time role provides essential support across all areas of human resources in the CEM group, helping ensure a positive, efficient, and Christian values-based workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and coordination support across all HR functions.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for new staff.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with policy and legislation.
- Assist in preparation of employment contracts, variation letters, and HR correspondence.
- Support compliance processes, including Working with Children Checks, teacher registration, and staff training.
- Contribute to HR initiatives that promote staff wellbeing and professional growth.
- Provide courteous, confidential, and professional HR assistance to staff.
This full-time position reports to the HR Manager and is to start January 2026 (open to negotiation).

About the role
The PR & Communications Specialist is responsible for protecting, enhancing, and promoting the organisation’s reputation, and its associated brands. This role plays a critical part in shaping the public narrative, ensuring clear and consistent communication across all channels, and building strong relationships with stakeholders, media, and the wider community. The PR & Communications Specialist will manage all aspects of public relations and communications, from content creation to issues management.
This full time position is due to start January 2026 (open to negotiation).
Key Responsibilities
- Communication Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns that align with CEM's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Media Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists and media outlets. This includes managing media enquiries, preparing press releases, coordinating interviews, and proactively pitching stories.
- Reputation & Issues Management: Serve as the first point of contact for issues communications. Escalate serious issues to the Chief Marketing Officer.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate effective communication with key internal and external stakeholders, including schools, parents, staff, alumni, and community leaders, to ensure alignment and shared purpose.
- Event Management: Plan and coordinate PR-related events, including media briefings and promotional activities, to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Content Creation: Create compelling and engaging content for a variety of platforms, including press releases, media kits, newsletters, articles, and website content.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track, analyse, and report on media coverage and the effectiveness of communication efforts. Utilise data and insights to inform and refine future strategies.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in a public relations or communications role, preferably within the education sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting clear, concise, and persuasive content.
- Demonstrated experience in media relations, including a strong understanding of media landscapes and journalist protocols.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing communication and issues management plans.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools, social media platforms, and media monitoring software.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

About the role
We are seeking a full time Program Manager to oversee the planning and successful delivery of a portfolio of development projects across our organisation. The role will provide assistance to the Principal Architect and Development Manager to strategise overall project delivery from feasibility to occupancy. Reporting to the Head of Building Development the Program Manager will coordinate a team of internal Project Managers and external resources as required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure objectives are met.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks.
- Communicate progress and updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Monitor project performance and implement improvements as needed.
- The role is based in CEM’s corporate office on the Central Coast with a flexible work policy allowing a portion of WFH.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Program Manager or in a similar leadership role managing complex projects valued up to $50M across multiple sites simultaneously.
- Proven record managing high performing teams consistently achieving delivery goals.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management systems.

- Participate in interviews with CEM Executive (held between September and mid-November annually).
- Confirm ATAR or equivalent entry requirements for undergraduate degree.
- Await notification of scholarship acceptance.
Candidates progressing through the selection process will be granted a conditional teacher traineeship, subject to meeting tertiary entrance requirements. Following this, you'll have the chance to visit your potential placement school and meet the Principal before commencing online lectures in late January/early February each year.
